We have a vacancy for a Part Time Catering Supervisor.  As part of a membership club with public visitors, and being solely responsible for the catering provision, this role is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and dynamic person with ambition to establish and develop our catering provision.

Your role will involve:

  • creating varied and interesting menus using high quality ingredients and priced appropriately
  • excellent presentation of all food
  • ensuring stocks are appropriately maintained and that ordering has an eye on cost saving and value
  • proper and economical use of all materials and equipment and appropriate portion control
  • daily checking and recording of fridge & freezer temperatures takes place in all areas
  • adhering to food safety standards
  • delivering excellent customer service
  • cash handling and reconciliation
  • general cleaning of all kitchen and service areas
  • working with the management to continuously improve and develop the catering service

You must:

  • be able to communicate effectively and work well with other team members
  • have a intermediate food hygiene certificate
  • maintain a professional appearance and display a positive and enthusiastic approach to all tasks
  • take pride in your work and complete all  tasks to a high standard

The Scottish Gliding Centre has almost 200 members and our club is one of the oldest in the UK, we have regular events and visitor and are looking for a candidate who can work well under pressure and bring new ideas to the catering offering. You will report directly to the General Manager but will have a good degree of autonomy day to day.  This role is well remunerated and is based on 4 days (Tuesday, Friday to Sunday) operating hours of 08:00 -14:00
